Tenants
Recent surveys indicate that almost half of Ontario’s four million apartment dwellers
report second-hand smoke entering their apartments from other units in their building.
Surveys also indicate that the majority of all apartment dwellers would prefer to
live in a smoke-free building if they had the choice. This registry has been developed
in an effort to bring together tenants looking for smoke-free accommodations and
landlords who have smoke-free accommodations to offer.
If you are looking for a smoke-free environment in which to live in Kingston or
the surrounding area please consult the attached registry. The owners/property managers
listed on this registry have indicated that they own or manage smoke-free multi-unit
dwellings; however, the current availability of rental units is not guaranteed and
must be verified by contacting the landlord/property management firm directly.

If you have a multi-unit property which is smoke-free or properties which you are
in the process of converting to smoke-free environments and you wish to have your
information included on our registry please provide your contact information below.
In order for your property to be considered for this registry it must contain more
than one unit and have existing lease agreement(s) in place with tenants which contain
no smoking or smoke-free clauses.
If you are considering converting some or all of your properties to smoke-free environments,
we encourage you to visit
Smoke-Free Housing
Ontario for information on how to adopt a smoke-free policy. If you have
not considered developing smoke-free properties we encourage you to do so. As a
leader in the housing market, you can play an important role in improving the health
of your residents and the community, while answering the call for a smoke-free choice.
