Health Hazard Investigation
The Province of Ontario’s Health Protection and Promotion Act defines the term health hazard to include exposure to biological, physical, and chemical agents, either natural or man-made. KFL&A Public Health investigates complaints to identify and manage health hazard situations.
Indoor Air Quality Consultation
Public health inspectors can consult with homeowners on strategies to maintain in full CMHC’s recommended humidity levels of 30 to 50%. KFL&A Public Health also works with municipal building inspectors and property standard officials to investigate moisture and mould issues. When mould is identified, public health inspectors consult with homeowners on making sure the mould is safely removed. Public health inspectors can also be consulted on other air quality issues including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, and second-hand smoke levels.
