Play, Live, Be, Tobacco-Free!
Play, Live, Be, Tobacco-Free! Tobacco-free sport and recreation means that everyone taking part in a sport or recreational activity does not smoke. This includes participants, volunteers, officials, coaches, leaders, and spectators. By creating a tobacco-free environment we can prevent youth from starting to use tobacco industry products. Take a stand, create a tobacco-free policy, advocate for tobacco-free outdoor spaces. Check out the Website and talk with family, friends and coaches about what you can do to contribute to the tobacco-free sport and recreation movement!
Smoke-Free Housing Ontario
Smoke-Free Housing Ontario helps landlords and property managers increase options for smoke-free living in multi-unit dwellings. Research shows the demand for smoke-free environments is on the rise. Ontarians are protected from second-hand smoke in virtually all enclosed workplaces and public places, yet many are exposed in their own homes as a result of smoke from neighbouring units. Check out www.smokefreehousingon.ca or call the Tobacco Information Line for more information.
Tobacco Control Program
KFL&A Public Health enforces the Smoke-Free Ontario Act and municipal smoke-free bylaws in the KFL&A area. Our health promotion and enforcement staff conduct compliance checks with tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products is limited to individuals over the age of 19, handle tobacco issues that relate to workplaces, and work with law enforcement agencies in the investigation of trafficking of contraband cigarettes in the KFL&A area.
Tobacco Information Line
Whether you’re trying to quit, trying to support someone who is quitting, trying to understand how smoke-free laws affect your business, or just looking for support in the community, the Tobacco Information line can help.
