Snacks are foods or drinks you have between meals. Eating between meals can be a
part of a healthy lifestyle. Choose snacks that contain fibre and protein and are
low in fat, sugar, and salt. Try these healthy snack ideas to help meet your nutritional
needs:
- celery and carrot sticks with hummus,
- melba toast and peanut butter,
- unsalted nuts and a cup of vegetable juice,
- bean dip with red, green and yellow pepper strips,
- trail mix, containing nuts and dried fruit,
- fruit cup with vanilla yogurt,
- whole grain crackers and cheese, or
- apple slices topped with peanut butter and raisins.
